Aerial Fantasy Help
Aerial Fantasy is a fantasy football game, that is entirely free to play, and follows the Barclays Women's Super League. Upon registering, you can arrange a squad containing a mixture of players from across the league. As players have an impact in the real-world, they score points in the game. If those players are in your squad, you earn those points too.
Rules: Regular Season
Build your squad. Make the right transfers. Pick the perfect captain. Outscore the competition.
Here's how it all works.
π The Basics
This is a free-to-play, fantasy football game where you create and manage a virtual squad of real WSL players. Points are earned based on real-life performances, so every goal, assist, save, and shutout matters.
Rack up the most points over the season through smart player picks, tactical transfers, and bold captain choices. Do you have what it takes to be the ultimate Fantasy Coach?
π― Team Selection
When you sign up, you'll pick a squad of 15 players:
𧀠2 Goalkeepers
π‘οΈ 5 Defenders
π© 5 Midfielders
β‘ 3 Forwards
You have a virtual budget of 100M to spendβso choose wisely. Players will vary in cost depending on their position, gameplay stats, and the performance of the clubs they play for. Your squad will be made up of players from across the WSL with a maximum of 3 players from an individual WSL team.
Each 'Gameweek', you pick your starting 11 team, and the rest sit on the bench. Beware: your bench players' points won't count (with a few exceptions - we'll come on to this in a minute).
How many players in each position that you select each Gameweek is up to you, however you must have a minimum of 3 defenders, 3 midfielders, and 1 forward. You can have a maximum of 5 defenders, 5 midfielders, or 3 forwards.
βοΈ Auto-Substitutions
If a player in your starting 11 doesn't play, a substitution will automatically be made from your bench. Players will be subbed on in the order you put them on your bench, so make sure to put your favoured sub first! The only exception to this is when a substitution would breach the minimum requirement per position.
Goalkeepers can only be substituted for another goalkeeper.
β½οΈ Gameweeks
The season is divided into gameweeks, each containing a group of games being played at a similar time β usually over the span of a single weekend.
The deadline for each gameweek is 60 minutes before the beginning of its first match. The deadline for the next gameweek is visible on the app when choosing your formation. You also have the opportunity to subscribe to push notifications, in which we'll remind you of the upcoming gameweek.
Gameweek deadlines may change as matches if matches are moved. If a match is rescheduled, or postponed, too far into the future, we may move it into another gameweek entirely. Unfortunately, due to the nature of why these games are postponed (e.g. bad weather), this can happen without notice.
If a fixture is moved to another gameweek, your players will not earn any points for that fixture. Typically, this means they'll play two fixtures in a single gameweek in future. In that case, they will earn the points for both fixtures.
The objective of the game is to predict who you think will perform the best, and arrange a team of players you think will all individually perform well. While you can transfer players, or update your formation, whenever you like, your changes will only become active from the following gameweek.
Once the next deadline passes, your squad at that moment is frozen, and that squad is what will score you points.
π Scoring Points
Your players score points for what they do on the pitch. Here's the breakdown:
β³ Playing up to 60 mins = 1 pt
β³ Playing 60+ mins = 1 pt
β½ Goal (Forward) = 4 pts
β½ Goal (Midfielder) = 5 pts
β½ Goal (Defender/GK) = 6 pts
π― Assist = 3 pts
𧀠GK saves = 1 pt per 3 saves
π‘οΈ Clean Sheet (GK/Def)* = 4 pts
π‘οΈ Clean Sheet (Mid)* = 1 pt
π‘οΈ Goal line clearance = 1 pt
π Penalty save = 5 pts
π¬ Penalty miss = -2 pts
π¨ Yellow card = -1 pts
π₯ Red card = -3 pts
π Own goal = -2 pts
*A clean sheet is only awarded to a player who has played 60+ minutes in a game. If a player plays 60 minutes but is later substituted, they will keep their shutout points.
π Bonus Points
In each match, the top three performing players will get up to three Bonus Points for their performance. Players are given scores based on skills such as pass accuracy and successful tackles, as well as goals and assists. The player with the highest score each match will get 3 points, the second-highest will get 2 points, and the third-highest will get 1 point.
Β©οΈ Captains and Vice Captains
Each Gameweek, you pick a Captain and a Vice-Captain for your squad. The Captain will earn double points for that week. If the Captain doesn't play, the Vice-Captain's points will be doubled instead. Pick wisely!
β¨ Visionary Points
Got a hidden gem on your squad? They may be eligible for Visionary Points! π«
A 'Visionary' is a player that featured in less than 2% of squads in the previous Gameweek. If a Visionary receives any points in a game beyond the points for minutes played, they will get an extra three points at the end of the game.
Visionary points are awarded per player, so the more Visionaries you have in your squad, the more chances you have to grab those extra points.
Visionaries fluctuate depending on how many people have them in their squad, so a player that is a Visionary one week is not guaranteed to be a Visionary the next week.
π Transfers and Price Changes
You have two free transfers available each Gameweek, meaning you can trade a player from your squad for someone else, provided you have the virtual budget to do so. You don't have to use both transfers, but if you don't use them, you lose them until next Gameweek.
Any additional transfers made will come at a cost of -4 points per move.
Each Gameweek, players will go up or down in price depending on how many Fantasy Coach transfer them in or out of their team. They will go up or down in increments of 0.1 million. This means the more popular a player is, the more they will cost.
Make sure you time your transfers strategically and spot talent before they become too pricey!
π₯ Tactics
Power-up your game and make the most out of your squad! Take your team to the next level and use a Tactic to boost your points.
There are four Tactics available:
π§’ Triple Captain β Captain scores 3x points instead of 2x.
π Bench Boost β Every bench player's points count that week.
𧱠The Wall β All shutout points will be doubled.
π§Ό Clean Slate β Unlimited transfers for one week: no penalties.
Use them wisely though - each Tactic can only be used once per season. You can only use one per Gameweek, so make it count!
β° Deadlines
Lock in your squad, Captain, and any Tactics 1 hour before the first match each week. Any changes after that? Too lateβthey'll apply to the next Gameweek.
π Leagues
Create private leagues to battle against your friends and family! Each league has a unique code to enter, and you can make as many of these leagues as you like. You will be given your league code when you create the league.
Public leagues are also available to join. Every player will be automatically entered into the Overall league, as well as a league specifically for your favorite club. How high in the rankings can you go?
Verified Leagues are signified with a golden tick, and are leagues dedicated to supporters groups and WSL content creators. The codes for these leagues will be set by the groups that run them, so head over to their socials for exclusive access.
π Season Structure
The game runs from September 2025 - May 2026, following the official WSL season.
Transfer Windows
Transfers within the league
If a player transfers to another club within the league, then their club will change in-game too.
If this leaves your team in an invalid spot, for example you now have more than three players from the same club, you can continue to accrue points. However, you will be unable to change your formation, or make transfers, until you get your team back into a valid state.
Players leaving the league
If a player leaves for a club outside the league, you will need to transfer them out of your team, as they will no longer accrue any points.
These players will be visibly highlighted in the app by a red exclamation mark.
The Mobile App
The app is asking me to make a new team
This normally means that you've used another email address, or login method, to sign in on your new device. If you know what email you used to make your team, you can sign out from any of the onboarding screens and try again.
If you aren't sure what email address you used to sign in with, send us an email at help@aerialfantasy.co. If you share your first name, last name, and team name with us, we'll help you find it.
